Thanks for the reports Ed, but at 104 you have to be a diehard racer. Not sure I would be at the track with those conditions. Look forward to seeing some photos. If you can, try to get a photo of the track. Not sure I have ever seen what Crandall looks like.

Re: Live from the "Cooking" IHRA Crandall Race
Sorry about the lack of reporting. My car ran flawless in testing last Friday and of course first pass today it was stumbling all the way down the track. Turns out my car doesn't like to be leaned out for bad conditions. On another note my bigger problem is im suffering from major cramps from the heat. I drank water and Gatorade yesterday and a lot today but no dice. I've never had it this bad. I can't even hold a wrench in my hands. So I went to CVS and got some advice and vitamins from the pharmacy. Well see tomorrow.

Thanks for the reports, Ed! Take care and stay hydrated!!!!

Re: Live from the "Cooking" IHRA Crandall Race
Ed, be careful drinking too much of just plain water... Make sure you drink plenty of gatorade type drinks, or believe it or not, add some salt to your water as crazy as that seems (google it for the full medical reasoning and for the proper ratio to ad...).

Re: Live from the "Cooking" IHRA Crandall Race
I will try to chime in with Ed. Ken, I will try to get a few pictures of the track tomorrow. It really is a nice facility. Plenty parking on concrete, which isn't too cool when the air temp is 104! I had a little work today on the cars. I put new tires on the GTO and swapped wheels and tires on the Firebird. They were both almost down to cords, but those Goodyears were still working fine. Also, I had a water pump to swap on the Firebird that went bad at the last race. I counted roughly close to 20 stock cars and 10 super stock. There may be a few more that came in late today, but I am not sure.

Re: Live from the "Cooking" IHRA Crandall Race
No problem Ed, I appreciate any reporting you can do. First thing is to take care of yourself and then your car. If you have time to let us know what's happing that would be great, but don't go out of your way. I know how much work it takes to race, work on your car, take pics, and do reports. Great photos also, I can see there is good parking at this track.
Thanks Jimmy, looking forward to seeing what the track looks like. |
