Engine Diaper Fix Needed
I run a '70 Mustang with a 351C with Hooker Super Comp headers in SST. I bought one of Summit's universal engine diapers to meet class requirements. Problem is, one tube on the driver's side hugs the block closely, making a melted mess on the tube and burning holes in the side of the diaper. I wrapped the tube with the DEI high temp wrap--no help. I had a new strap sewn on over the winter and a double layer of leather sewn over the area, along with the high temp wrap--still no help. Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, how did you fix it? Thanks for any tips you guys are willing to share,

Re: Engine Diaper Fix Needed
Thanks for responding. The car's in the trailer now. But I went to your web site and printed your data sheet. Next time it comes out for an oil change I'll take the measurements you need and give you a call.

Re: Engine Diaper Fix Needed
Definitely go with DRE. Not only will it fit like a glove as it should, you have the owner who is racing with you...(He runs Super Comp at most all D-3, some D-2,4,5 events, and many of the National Events). Nothing like onsite support. If its not right, he will make it right!
Just my two cents! Ron 396V S/C |
