55 chevy vs 56 hood
 

Are these different? or will a 55 fit the 56?

my understanding is that it will fit HOWEVER a 56 core support is different than a 55 I'm told front fenders are different on the bottom by the rockers too will bolt on but will look
"goofy" along the rocker line----

While it might bolt on, it's always been my understanding is that the '56 hood is different along the bottom lip where the grill bar bolts on. The hood latch bracket may be different too. An online search of parts vendors indicates that the reproduction '55 hood is only listed for that year, and I would think if they were interchangable they would list both years for that part number.
