Mark Williams brake caliper leaks
 

You guys were so helpful on my roller lifter question, that I decided to come to you with another. Who has had problems with MW calipers leaking, either between the halves or at the piston seals? I have a set on the back of my Super Stock car and they actually leak pretty profusely. The Lambs on the front look like the day they were built. MW said they'll rebuild them for $95 each, but I've honestly never before had ANY caliper (Wilwood, Strange, MW or Lamb) leak like this. Kinda annoys me that a piece they get $175 for would leak like Chinese crap. Thanks. Mike Lyons

Never had one leak. I consider the MW stuff to be the best. Dan

I've rebuilt my son's Wilwoods. You could probaby buy the parts and rebuild them fairly cheap. I wouldn't let this ruin your opinion of the MW product. This could happen with any manufacturer, I suspect. Just rebuild them and move on. Stuff Happens. Only use very high quality brake fluid, no silicone, etc.

I have all Mark Williams components on my car with zero problems! I never hear of problems with their products other than a few complaining that they're a bit pricey!

I appreciate everybody's comments. Nothing could ruin my opinion of MW products. I've used them (as well as others) for 30 years and they are the finest products available. Like every one of you, I've never had the hint of a leak in the past and now have TWO that leak. Was just looking for the experiences of others. I'm going to just have them rebuilt and put them back on. I'm good on the brake fluid type; have never used silicone fluids.
