Apex or PMR transbrake button ??

Sorry for this post also being over on the class racer build forums... I guess I posted it over there by mistake....

Folks, I had made my own long throw button years ago. Since I last raced, the rulese state that all transbrake buttons need to be NHRA certfied, so mine has to go....

I'm looking for opinions on the Apex 888-2 button, vs. the Mandella/PMR button. I would like the slowest button possible.

I must admit I love the concept of the Shoot the Lite button. I feel as though pulling the cocked trigger like that would have to be more consistent than letting go of a button... But alas, that button is very quick, and I really need a slow button....

Anyway I'd love to hear opinions on Apex vs PMR.

Thank you in Advance
Kevin

Don't know that I have seen the other one, but the PMR is a very nice piece. Several guys using it. I have a Biondo button in mine that works just fine. It's slow enough for me, but I'm old. :-)

A simple spring change can slow the apex or terminater button down a lot. The apex is just a alum cast version of biondos button. Scotty Richardson did a video on changing springs and slowed the buttons down 6 hundro.

I had the apex button and had the softest spring on it, dont mount it vertical with the softest spring, it wouldnt come all the way up because the spring was so soft, matter of fact the last run I made with it when the front tires touched back down the button engaged and it locked the back tires up about 60'. not fun...

Just dont run the softest spring mounted in vertical position! Only thing I dont like about the apex is it doesnt have a keyed slot and the shaft can rotate and I think this might have some effect on the spring...
