Seeking some technical advice

Guys, I'm trying to help a friend get into S/S or Stock racing. He recently came into some money & is looking at a V-10 Drag Pak Challenger. Yes, I know it's expensive ( he's also buying a T/S car!) but he can afford it. Just what class do these things run in? Who are the "go to" people for V-10 race engines? Just how successful are these cars, really?
He's a big Mopar fan but I just can't see throwing money at this thing unless he has some chance of being successful. Myself & another guy have some experience in the Super classes but now we've been asked to help (possibly) with this effort.
Any opinions?

If you're looking for hp the Barton's make some very fast dodges! The BB/SA record was just set by one of their engines in a V10 challenger.

Our Arrow Racing engine is very good - we ran 9.12 in air not nearly as good with a 2spd - they (Jonathan Allegrucci) had a three speed to set the record

I like guys who have built many many V10s - even drag racing ones

I have #3 #8 & #9 new untouched that are for sale. I also have two Arrow motors. I have also run 9.02, 9.03 several times with a glide and up to 149.79. I also have four legal 3 speeds, & anything else V10. And direct access to Arrow and spare parts.

Here you go,, Hemicop. Tell your friend, if hes going to jump in, this is the way to do it, and the gentleman to see about getting set up. Theres a lot of experience and knowledge gathered here. My 2 cents.

If your friend really love being different, tell him to build an all out Super Stock version of the V10 Dragpak. We have yet to see a purpose built Super Stock version of the V10 Dragpak. It would be nice to see what one would do with the engine rules opened up a little more. There's a guy in Sweden working on a SS/C/B Viper but I have yet to hear of any results as of yet. Would be neat to see in my opinion!

Thanks guys! I'll forward this to him, including the post of the other cars for sale & let him know. I'm hoping he DOES build an all-out S/S car as I think the V-10 has a bit more potential than the 6.1 Drag Pak cars. I'm not sure at this point just where his heart really is---T/S or S/S. I'm hoping for S/S but his driver is more a T/S kinda guy so it's all up to them. On the "plus" side, they're both Mopar enthusiasts & I'm thinking a P/S engined T/S car would be beyond even his budget.

I also have two Drag Pak V8 cars. One is #80 done by PK in columbus. It is an an 09 and pick whatever motor you want. I also have # 36 a 10 model. It is a 6.1, both are rolling chassis. # 36 is a B & B car. One will become a Shoot Out only car for the new 426 and therefore will be rebadged as a 13. I can also sell either one with a 426 as a shoot out class car.
