chrondek tree

There are two small yellow lights between the 4th and 5th ambers on the old Chrondek tree. They are the same size bulbs as pre stage and stage bulbs. What were they used for?

If I rember I think those small bulbs determined on a handicap start which side of tree came down first .. anybody else remember
