C3 Vette Solid Axle for Stock ???
 

Wondering what is the legal way to put a solid axle 10-12 bolt under a C3 Vette? Looking at a 74 for my dad to build for stock, as he has 454/270@360 engine he was going to put in a stock gt chassis but I have talked him out of it. Not looking to send the car somewhere, we can do the work ourselves. If anyone has insight or pictures it would be great, thanks.

Without breaking the bank, what are the must do's to the stock IRS for a mid 11 second car?

I'm with Chad stick with the IRS. Tom's Differential has a lot of up grade for the vettes. http://www.tomsdifferentials.com/

Here is mine and my brothers/Nephews Vettes. The blue Vette is running a stock IRS with a power glide. It has a new Eton posi with a richmond ring and pinion and steel cap on left side. He runs International Axles hardened axles and outer spindles. Solid U joints. Stiff spring and shocks are a must. 11.50's is no problem at all with a IRS. Call Tom at International axle and tell him Vinny from Long Island New York recommended his products. 763-428-5020

We also run his stuff in our 63 and 67 Vettes both stick cars.
Red Vette is running a solid axle, 4 link with stock chassis.

Oh and reliable. Slowed both cars down and ran 10.50 index all season plus brackets.
