Ran for Class win 9 x, only won 1 -1975 Summer over 8 cars
1972 Just wanted to run Indy in case I lost my left leg.
1973 After operationals Ruth had to drive
1974 class r/u at Sports nts vs Bill Felker, Spring nts vs Carl Holbrook
1975 won class at Summer nts.at Winternts Bill Felker who was building our engine was also running 68 , NHRA changed the 396-325 h.p. and that moved us up to SS/GA, Bill said If I bought a 69 I'd run SS/HA, so he found one 1st and put the drive train from our 68 into the new 69.
1976 Spring nts Class final was dead late when I had him coverd & didn't want to R/L.
1977 Lost class final to Jim Weakland when I spun tires in Class final.
1978 1st turbo 400 trans brake , broke axle 1st time I tryed it at Gators
Also was 1st SS/HA to run in the 10's, 78 IHRA Winter nts,I went 10:98 @ 122,
got mph record ,but Felker later ran 10:96 & got e.t. record.
Also set IHRA & AHRA Class e.t. records
