Seriously Searching for a Body/Paint Shop
I am looking for a shop to paint my 69 RS Camaro. The car has had all
the necessary sheet metal work and has all glass,,chrome, bumpers and misc trim removed. The car would need minor body preparation, priming and final painting. I am looking for a basic "nice paint job" not a show stopper. I live in Southern New Jersey and would like to stay within 100 miles of my house. My budget would be topped out at $6000 so that would probably eliminate me from some shops. Being an Ex- stock eliminator racer I know most of you guys have a network of people and services to keep your Race car competitive and at the track. So I am asking for a couple of names that might fill the bill. Thanks for reading. ed |

Re: Seriously Searching for a Body/Paint Shop
Jim, Thanks I live near Cape May, I guess that could be considered
Southern south Jersey. I know where Neptune NJ is. I am looking for a smallish type shop that dosent have a three ring circuis going on. I dont have a deadline on completion,if the guy wanted to do the car in a couple of phases that would be fine. ed |

Re: Seriously Searching for a Body/Paint Shop
Good luck in your search. Be sure you check references from many former customers. And never tell a body shop you're not in a hurry! I know there are lot's of good shops out there , but there are many more that are not.

Re: Seriously Searching for a Body/Paint Shop
I can recommend a guy in Central Jersey by the name of Joe Luis Restorations. He's currently doing some paint work on my Demon stocker and I wouldn't let just anyone touch my car. I've known Joe for a long time and have seen a lot of his work. He goes the extra mile to do the job right.
Here's a link to show you some of his work. http://builtbyjoeluis.com/ Ken Kopecky 1454 E/SA |

Re: Seriously Searching for a Body/Paint Shop
Are you near Atco? I've seen some great work done by a small but franchise shop. Small group who paints a lotta race and street cars. sent him a pm for a contact number.
so you can speak to him yourself. good luck. My paint guy passed away a few years ago, never got my velle to him but Buick looks good 15 years later , Chevell is still rusty and ready, lol. |
Re: Seriously Searching for a Body/Paint Shop
Chris , Yep I am pretty close to Atco, I estimate about 50-60 miles away.
Sure ,I would be interested in talking to them. ed |
