leakdown on new engine
I have a newly assembled engine which I'm not happy with the results of a leakdown test.
My question is this; After running the engine for a while to seat the rings, can I expect to see an improvement? |

Usually.

Has the engine seen dyno time if not that would be the first place I would put it so that i could put a slight load on it. also make sure you use breakin oil as it is formulated to help seat rings from the git go. If you use oil with friction modifiers in it, it will take much, much longer to seat if you ever do seat them. Todays lower tension rings need help to get seated. Or at least this is my .5 cents worth.
