Junior Stock Book....

I have been looking thru the Doug Boyce written Jr Stock book thanks to Joe Fasano who went way out of his way to lend it to me.....

Wow what a great read this book is and for someone who raced the era and had many friends back then.....I am really loving it....

And much to my amazement I saw my name and my partners name mentioned in the book and it really got to me....I recalled just how hard it was to be competitve and what it cost us in more than just money to be able to race....

The effort we made to be a part of this era was something maybe others can appreciate......and have even a small amount of success is huge to me even today after all these years.....

Anyone interested in that era should buy the book.....

A huge thankyou to Joe Fasano for lending me his copy....

Re: Junior Stock Book....

I've had the hots to do a nostalgic H/SA (at the time) '57 Chevy powerglide 210 two door sedan 220 HP for years. Like John Barkley's. Just makes it into the 15 lb. class at the factory shipping weight. But I've got too many other projects going on and I'm running out of time.

Not a legal car, but a fun car. A Saturday night footbrake car that looks like it did back then. But, with a aluminum powerglide, a 12 bolt, good converter, .060" over 327 short block, 220 hp stuff on top so it looks right. Even a pair of long tube fenderwell headers. Should be able to run high 13's and just be a fun car.

I fantasize about it, like when I'm mowing the lawn.or doing my daily walk. Fun way to kill the time. Yes, I've got a good imagination.
