I think Pro Mod cars are doing something like this. I was thinking of trying it as well. I believe it uses more of the tire instead of the outside inch or more not really doing anything.

It works! Hooks harder with more air, car is more stable, etc. No down side I have ever seen. Especially with radials. I stumbled onto this about 30 years ago. Has always worked for me.

Wouldthis work with a 10.5 w or 12.5 w on a 14" rim?

The 12.5" would for sure. I ran my 10,5"s on 12" wheels.

Thanks Ed, we have been running 14 x 32's and I don't think we need them to hook our little motor and we don't need to drag that big a tire around

I am running 10.5W M/T on 15x12" wheels. Happy with the results,no issues.
