chevy 2 header question ....again
the chevy 2 headers that i have purchased hit up against the shock tower. i have knocked in the tower a little for clearance. Question-is it legal to cut out a piece of the shock tower and weld another piece back in that would help with the clearance? would this fall under the rule under "fendersplash pans" which says altercations to spring and shock tower prohibited but also says may be trimmed to allow 2 inch clearance around headers.can someone help me with this. thanks jason

Re: chevy 2 header question ....again
Its my understanding that you can't cut or notch the shock towers for header clearance. I had done exactly what you are talking about doing when I raced my car in super street. I had to put it back to stock. Who knows what will actually pass through tech though.

Re: chevy 2 header question ....again
When I inquired about flange plate headers for my car I was told by Div. 5's Wayne Lewis they were not allowed in Stock!
