1/8 mile and 1/4 mile corelation

looking at some old NHRA records, it looks like a typical 13.00 1/4 ET translated to low 8's and the speed is about 20 - 23 mph different.
your thoughts
thanks rod in AZ

1/8 mile et and multiply x 1.54696 = 1/4 mile et ...it is close but not perfect.............

I've used 1.59 for us.

I ran a 7.12 this past weekend.7.12 X 1.54696= 11.01.

I assure you that my car can run NO where near 11.01 right now.Whatever formula this is for is NOT applicable to ALL cars.

Mines pretty close to 1.59, although it definitely depends on the wind. The type of car will affect it too, sticks will run the backhalf better, as will more aerodynamic cars, etc.

I am sure that is true. After running both 1/4 and 1/8 adjust the formula to better fit your car. There are so many other factors involved you will never get it right on but it is still a good indicator when testing on an 1/8 mile track.
