Dime Rockets Revisited
 

Is there a combination that someone can put together for $10,000 that has a good chance of running .5 under the index? I started out planning on building the car I wanted, a 67 El Camino with a 230. After talking about it here and on Inliners.org it seems that I will have to work hard to get it to run the index, let alone under. Guys here advise me to buy a car someone's already built, and that Monza Mark Y advertised is tempting. But I really enjoyed the Dime Rocket thread and would like to see if there are other possibilities.
PS - I had started posting here as VStock, but changed to my real name after seeing most people here use their name rather than a handle.

Buy Yac's Monza, it could be killer with a little work !

IMHO, for 10K I'd buy Yacs Monza and spend the rest on making it real fast.
