283 parts

unfortunately I am gathering parts again...:( I havent took my engine out but by the sounds of it I need alot. lol I know I will need everything under my heads,I have my fingers crossed the heads are ok but at this point I really dont care.:D

I really would like to get this thing back together, I have a few races left that I wanted to go to.

Just a little advice from 30 years of racing. Buy good parts and good machine work. Most local machine shops are not going to do the kind of machine work it takes for a good stock eliminator motor.

Greg I dont mind at all to buy good parts however I dont have any money to waste. It is a very expensive to class race,I prolly should just stick to big moiney bracket racing which has been very good to me,but for some wierd reason I like the class alot. I see no reason for aftermarket block ,very curious about crankshafts. Whats the benefit for light weight rotating ? I am not lookin to set any records just want to get back out.

You would change classes but there is a 327/275 stocker engine for 4500.00 just listed in the classified section. That would work for your Chevy II. Just throwing out ideas. Good luck.

Sounds like Philbilly is more interested in durability than in going fast. I say that's a smart move on his part.

His showing at the Bowling Green LODRS this past weekend in Stock Elim shows he is an excellent driver. He made it to the semi-finals before his engine let go. If he can get that 4-dr Chevy II bulletproofed he could be a real threat in NHRA Stock.

You try to get close to min.assm. weight for your engine, list on NHRA .com. The lighter rotate assm. will accelerate quicker ,lighter piston easier on rods, lighter rotate assm is lighter crank can be.
Phil is always a threat in the other lane, See you at London Pro Am
