I'm partial to the 1968 Mustang/Cougar 4bbl 302 in SS/GT myself.
Factored @ 235 hp in the GT class and aluminum aftermarket Edelbrock, AFR, and Canfield heads are allowed.

I have been wanting to build my 87 Thunderbird with that year 302 with AFR heads and on small 30-9 rear tires.

The restriction is that small holley 4 bbl carb.

Do your research before you leap into the SBF replacement heads..
Apparently NHRA didn't do enough before they accepted them, maybe they shouldn't have.. maybe NHRA should have given Edelbrock and AFR the specs... tons of work to get them legal w/correct valve size.
