Re: picking a fuel pump
I doubt you need that much pump. But get hold of Weldon Fuel Pumps they will recomend what you need.

Plus, Weldon has a lifetime warranty, they pay on divisional races, they have neat t-shirts, and they like to feed you at the track. They act like they like us or something. |
Re: picking a fuel pump
Q jets are very needy when it comes to volume. Make sure whomever you choose, talks about the design of the entire system. If you hang a pump and regulator on a bad set up, it won't make your car happy.
There are some great options out there. You get what you pay for. Many years ago when we were first doing a stickshift Q jet in F Stick, the guy at Magnafuel asked what we were running and I told him a 400hp stocker with a Q jet and a stick. He said to spec it out like it made 1000hp. He wasn't kidding. |
Re: picking a fuel pump
You need a good fuel system for a higher hp Qjet car. Running a dead head system on a Qjet car is leaving performance on the table. Forget about running a Holley Blue or Black pump. Waste of money for a Qjet car. For a Holley carb, they work well.
The A1000 is a great fuel system. I put an A1000 system in my G/SA car. The reason why. I was able to use the #8 braided line that I had for the Barry Grant fuel system for the return line. The components were a bit lighter, and it used a little less power. The A2000 system is a great system as well, cost about 150.00 more to install. I know the Magna fuel, and Weldon fuel pumps are very good as well. Recirc systems are a must for the serious Qjet racer. Good Luck! Quote:
