moroso oil pump spacer?
 

years ago i bought a Moroso oil pump spacer kit, which drops the pump 1" lower in a pan. i never did use it. now i have a use for it. i have never seen anyone use one of these spacers.
my question is, do they work and/or would you use one?

I used some about 20 years ago with no trouble. I like the concept of pushing the oil rather than pulling. I never realy liked the bent stud that held it all together. With todays lighter oil I thing you are better off with a solid mount to the cap and a longer pickup.

The spacer was only part of the kit............

The other part was the bottom plate on the pump that was converted into the pick up & a weird looked looking offset stud for mounting........

Just remove the stock cover which contained the pickup and bolt on the bottom pickup type cover....

It was as far back in the pan as possible and the pump itself was submerged in oil..

We ran that setup 30+ years ago in Super Stock.....
