More crap

Saw this on my track website today....I'm getting a little tired of this crap....and dont say to me "well IHRA blah blah" cause IHRA aint up here in the northeast and until I move to a person/racer friendly state like Tennessee (July 2013 !!!) I guess I dont have much choice...

PER DIVISION 1 RULING ,ALL AUXILIARY PIT VEHICLES MUST REGISTER IN TOWER OFFICE FOR THE COST OF $10.00 DOLLARS PLUS PROOF OF INSURANCE WITH A MININUM OF GENERAL LIABILITY OF $300,000. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE PROOF OF INSURANCE YOU CAN BUY FOR THE COST OF $50.00 DOLLARS .THE POLICY IS PROVIDED BY WELLS FARGO,IT IS A COMMERICAL GENERAL LIABILITY POLICY FOR $300,000 PER OCCURRENCE AND ARRREGATED PER EVENT IS INCLUDED WITH YOUR REGISTRATION. THERE WILL BE ON EXCEPTIONS IF YOU DON"T HAVE THE PROOF YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY THE $50.00 POLICY

I'm guessing this is due to drunken ah's or out of control kids causing accidents/damages, and D1/tracks not wanting to be responsible for the cost of any accident...

What happened to controlling the persons responsible and not penalizing the us regular folks...although I would be pissed if one the aforementioned crashed into me/my car/my family.....

Re: More crap

Division 5 did this last year and it will continue this year according to the NHRA Division 5 website.
It continues to take the FUN out of racing.
My 2 Cents

It seems to be the American way to make everyone pay for the mistakes of a few. I see this in lots of things besides NHRA racing.

Re: More crap

Is that for each track/race or is it a one time fee for all NHRA events/tracks?

Chip,
One time fee for the year at all events (Nationals included).
You just need to show proof of insurance and pay the $10 before you get the sticker for the "Auxiliary Pit Vehicle".

Actually in D1 it's been that way for a few years. We had to have it for the first division race of the year for the last several years (if you want the sticker that is), which they DO check to see if it is on the vehicle (at least D1 did).

I think a lot of tracks just let people slide on it in the past.

Re: More crap

I really dont even want to comment on this because it PISSES ME OFF ... but i will say ... what do we pay the $90.00/national event (insurance charge) for if we have to purchase more insurance .... if anyone has noticed INSURANCE companies are LOADED and making almost as much money as these "F"ing oil companies ..... is it me or does anyone know of ANYONE who actually got into an accident on a pit viehicle that this BS would actually apply .... I am really hating NHRA "decision makers" right about now

Bend over here it comes
