A while back I went to Kyle Carrothers shop and dynoed several of our pressure plates. I took some video of his Clutch Dyno in action.

That has to be one of the coolest videos I have seen in awhile!

I know the footbrakers don't care, but to the 3 pedal crowd. Nice!

Is that a piece of equipment he's trying to market or just for his own shop use? What is the cost to evaluate a clutch on the dyno?Plate load vs. RPM is the holy grail for a stick car.Cool deal!

Yes. Kyle has built and sold a number of these dynos under the name "Clutch Dyno". I believe Ace Clutch has one of his units and number of other drag racers, one of them being a prominent Pro Stock racer. Probably best to call Kyle directly to see about having a clutch evaluated.

I learned a lot about the behavior of pressure plates after dynoing several different plates and trying combinations of base and counter weight.

Even with a blow-proof bellhousing bad things can happen..............

I was thinking the same thing, and maybe a remote to shut it off. That could be really, really bad. Cool Video.
