Looking for some info on this car
 

Hey new guy here. Been searching and trying to find some info on this car I traded my bucket for and I came across this site so I thought I would ask you folks. I traded my bucket I built for this 1960 Falcon. I got it in Chicago but have found out that the car came from out East. If anyone knows it I would like to hear about it. 1960 Falcon running all Chevy drivetrain. The rear wheel wells were cut out larger, neighbor and I cut up a pair of front fenders and welded in the parts and fixed the trunk.

Curious what type of Chevy drive train were you running in that little thing...

I can't find much about this one, but it is similar and was racing at Motion Raceway in Assumption IL.

Nothing from the HAMB guys either. Oh well.

This is the info I got when I traded for it:

It's running a 355ci Chev with a t-10 crashbox and a 456 12 bolt rearend. Front axle I was told is from a 58 Chev pickup. Ladder bars are home made. He also said he thought it was raced by Jon & Moony McGlocklyn. ( I don't have any idea who they are but thats just me, also can't find anything about them either)



Just got done taking all the old wiring out, need to get a kit from Speedway and redo it all correct. I also need to figure out how to fix the T-10 so it isnt a crashbox. Will pull that out this Spring and see what all was done to it, just hoping a rebuild kit will be enough.

You know in the photo of the red Falcon posted in that link it sure looks similar to the black Falcon...take a look at the rear wheel wells, the red Falcon looks like it ran with larger rear tires as compared to the photos of the black Falcon, notice the two different black Falcon photos and the rear wheel wells were different...and it also looks like the red Falcon has those big ladder bars as well, but it's hard to see them in the old pic...just my 2 cents.

Yeah been looking at the picture. Does anyone know when about that picture was taken? It looks pretty close and I have the car kinda tore down right now and the back of the car was is white under the black spray paint they did the car in. Can't really tell on the front fenders thou, I've been looking for a different color under it. Wish there were more pictures of it somewhere to beable to better tell.

(The car came from out East at some point to Ill area. I did some checking on the title. The vin number was goofy at one point. Somehow a S got changed to a 5 by one of the DMV employees)

Found somemore info on it this morning on H.A.M.B. Just took awhile searching thru Google and then I found this link. Car was in Dixon Illinois. Sent him an email, keep you posted. :)

Well back to square one. Talked to the guy in the above link and the deal fell thru for him so other then the guy I got it from I don't have any info. The quest goes on. lol
