Goodyear date code ?

Anyone know how to read the date code ? I called the south central distributor, they couldn't tell me and gave me a ph. Number to a engineer and am waiting for him to call me back. The code is "5ZVH"

I might be wrong but on DOT tires the date code is four numbers,as in, 2810,which would be the 28th week of 2010.Check on both sides of the tire and see if you find one with four numbers. If not then in the immortal words of Emily Latella "never mind".

It appears that gy has changed from old system, ie the "2810" as you stated. There is no other four digit codes on either side.

you will need to know the D code number on the tire, the size, and that number letter code when you talk to Gyear---they no longer use a date code like years past---the new way of coding tires has the "code" you found and will tell you the number of tires produced in that batch, the date of manufacture, construction and compound characteristics of that batch of tires etc---YOU CAN NO LONGER TELL THE PRODUCTION DATE OF A G'YEAR RACE TIRE by a date code as in years past they went away from that more than 2 years ago---make sure you have that info handy when you talk to the Gyear race tire guy---that is the only way to tell any dates etc

you are exactly right ! Carter-maxwell said they did not know how to read the code and gave me the number to an engineer, (chad), who retuned my call and stated that you can not read the new code. He further stated that "they stopped the old numerical codes to stop teams from picking through tires to get the newest dated tires". He told me that my slicks were made "in the middle of april 2011". Super secret squirrel crap !
