"A seat that incorporates a reinforced head rest is permitted." http://www.nhraracer.com/content/gen...693&zoneid=132 I am building a 65 Biscayne so I am going to install an 86 Vette drivers seat. ---Trevor

Did they forget this important information?

Re: NHRA answers the seat question
I think NHRA means that if your stock seat has a headrest built in, you don't need to fabricate one on your roll bar.

Re: NHRA answers the seat question
Did you guys click on the link I provided to the NHRA technical web site ? I think buckets were optional in a Biscayne ? Original bench is totally trashed so this is a lower cost safer alternative . I have one good black bucket [original style ] I am installing on the pass. side. ---Trevor

BTW, one stock bench is usually lighter than two buckets (of the same family, of course) |
Re: NHRA answers the seat question
Trevor, I think you'll be pretty unhappy if you show up with an early Biscayne and a later Corvette driver's seat to run Stock, unless the tech guy is either blind or doesn't care.
If you're going to try that, you'd be really wise to get the approval in writing from Glendora. Unless of course you don't mind wasting a weekend and the attending expenses. |
Re: NHRA answers the seat question
There is a recent mile-long thread on stocker seats:
http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=37616 Bottom line, the seats must have come in your year, model car. |
