Fontana?

Does anyone have any input or no anything about Fontana having a Division race anymore or any other NHRA races? Are they still having legal battles cause of noise? Thanks in advance!

They are still having legal battles because of noise with the neighbor. The court date has been pushed back to end of November.
Hopefully they can get it solved and move forward with NHRA events including divisional & points races.

On Nitromater there is a thread saying that there has been a settlement.
And supposedly they will be racing in 2012......
I hope so.....

The hearing date has been moved to January now.

What I don't get is that those trains are louder than our cars are, but they still have that big railyard there, and we're not ok anymore??? More reason for me to be glad that IHRA, is enroute to the west (more and more), and thus more options for our Stock/Super Stock racing dollars. I'm not holding my breath about them embracing our level of racing again...afterall, look what happened to Orange County, and other formerly famous tracks from that area...Fontana's next unless/until a miracle happens, which I seriously doubt will!!!

Gary, you forget that Fontana is on the grounds of a super speedway that won't fail and go away. As long as ISC gets a couple of good races a year the speedway will remain. As long as Auto Club has anything to say about it, the drag strip will remain also. It just might not open back up to open header racing. IMHO.

True that Floyd, and I try to have hope that the drag strip will continue to prosper. However, if they don't allow open header racing again, then another one of the primary reasons I chose to move to this part of the country, will be dashed (and not in a way that will still allow me to satisfy my/our love for our kind of racing). We lose that track, and the third closest track to Phoenix area racers is going to be Bakersfield, and at approx. 525 miles away from here, I can think of a few NHRA tracks that are nearly 800 miles away from Denver that would be quicker to get to from there, than Bakersfield is from Phoenix....this isn't what I foresaw when I planned to move here, back in '06, which is :( . Thank God for IHRA coming out this way, is all I have to say!

I hope you're right Gary, I'd like to see another venue in our part of the country too.
I can race mine with mufflers if I have to but I'd rather not. I'm 15 minutes from Fontana, 3 hrs from Bakersfield, 3 1/2 hrs from Vegas, 5 hrs from speedworld and 6 something from Firebird.

Come on up and hang with us Floyd....other than your annual appearance at the March Meet. We're racing at the Patch every weekend you know and would love to hang out with you.

If you think Fontana is safe just because it's on the grounds of a super speedway let me hear you say Ontario Motor Speedway!!!!
