Q Ships
This is a topic that I think everyone here would enjoy and share in.
At one time or another I think that every manufacturer offered up some very hot equipment disguised in a unsuspecting wrapper. I have kinda been a student of these cars over the years but I don't think I have seen them all. I'll start out with one that I am surprised Paul Ceasrine never spoke of. How many of you have ever heard of this one much less seen one? http://www.sixpackfuryregistry.com/ |
Re: Q Ships
These things were built mostly as a luxury sports model, they were way to heavy to be very competitive...70 & 71 Sport Fury's came with 318's 383's and the Sport Fury GT came with 440's, but very few came with the 440 six barrel option.

Alex,
The '2-Ton+ Beasts'...Could be found in H/SA at your local drag strip. Never saw one,,,,but I bet on the Thruway at 120 MPH, it still had more left. |
Re: Q Ships
Alex,
Personally, I liked the 1970 Chrysler 'Hurst 300' cars. Production numbers; 385 built With the 440 'TNT' |
Re: Q Ships
Worked in the bodyshop of a chrysler/plymouth/dodge dealer in 1970.
Owner had one of the Hurst 300's. What a cool ride. It (and everything else) got fenced in when he went belly up and had 5 lending institutions show up claiming ownership of some of the same cars and trucks! A couple of the loan officers got in a fight over the cars and the local police were called in to stop it. Never got my last paycheck.......... |
Re: Q Ships

There is supposed to be one in Ontario, Canada, complete, and in really nice condition. Also, I think I remember hearing of one in the Chicago vicinity that was pretty decent as well. Definitely cool cars though. |
Re: Q Ships
Next: Ford
Everyone knows about the 63-64 427 Galaxie lightweights as those were mostly true race cars but the 65-66 cars were much more stealth and rare. Here is a survivor 66 427-425 4 speed sleeper car http://www.stangtv.com/news/ebay-fin...axie-survivor/ |
Re: Q Ships
I used to see a couple of Galaxies with the seven litre badges on the front fenders but not sure what year they were 65-66-67 models...here's a 427 Galaxie sedan
