Who builds the fastest Q-jet
 

I hope this doesnt cause a huge argument, but I am curious as to who builds the fastest Q-Jet carbs out there.

There are several really good builders, Danny Ashley, Dean Oliver, etc., but I don't think there's a truly bolt-on and go-fast carburetor. I think half the battle is getting it jetted correctly and having the air valve set "perfectly". If you could afford a Racepack with O2's on every single cylinder, that would surely help. If you can't, count on lots and lots of track testing. My .02.

I have had both Danny Ashley and a Dean Oliver q-jets. I would say they were both very close to the same. Ended up running the Danny Ashley carb all the time based on the back-to-back we did. Actually had Danny Ashley go through the Dean Oliver carb I had because I liked the changes he made to the Q-jet. Sold off all of my SS stuff last year and the guys who bought my Danny Ashley carbs actually called and ordered more from him.

Having said the above, both guys are incredible to deal with and are as honest as they come.

Dean Oliver you can google Deano q-jets

Alot of times there are good ones on this site for sale. I bought one that was race prepped by another builder and it worked fantastic for $500.

I think the guy that knows how to take his Q-Jet, T-Quad, Holley or any other carb and adjust it for conditions while at the track has the fastest carb.
I've watched guys not touch their $500+ carb because only the zen master is allowed to change jets, metering rods or any other re-calibration. I think any one of the guys mentioned offers a great product but if a dunce is operating the car, nothing can be said about the carb.
