Class concern

Being out early, I had the opportunity to watch S SS at Earlville, combined with David Barton's comment on the growing speed differential disparity in S SS and Comp. NHRA is allowing tremendous speed differential in these 3 classes....all other classes are fairly close.

Consider a Comp AA/PM closing on a F/ED, or Ed Fernandez's Gremlin vs a AA/SA CJ more than a few of which are being raced by relative newcomers

Many posts are about different classes for these new generation cars, but the closing speed finish line concern remains in the eliminator nevertheless. Admittedly the probabilty is small

A fairly controversial idea would be an eliminator based on ET segments...or maybe I
should just start wearing skirts

Re: Class concern

if anyone is worried about getting into an accident while racing they should not be in a car to begin with.

i dont think you would look to good in a skirt.

Oh please!! I race 8 second dragsters with my 13 second stocker every time I bracket race. That kind of racing will teach you the stripe in big hurrry. Do you not drive on the freeway because you might crash? Not to worry, tune up your mirrors!!

Randall,I've run that scenario a few times. One run the other car was capable of going 145
MPH.It does get your attention.
I don't think seperating the cars would be a good idea though.I'm thinking of putting a 6 point in the car in the future.

But then some of us give more thought to our well being than others.

Please make skirt length appropriate for you leg apperance.... :)

I had to race a top alcohol car one Saturday night decades ago at Muncie, they must have been testing. He actually made it to the third round.. I was dialed in the tens and I remember looking in the mirror 3/4 of the way down the track and thinking "he broke that POS", then the sky seemed to light up behind me and I thought, "man he really blew it up!"
Fortunately we needed a full pass so I didn't lift... He blew by me about ten feet past the stripe, I thought he had sucked the paint off the car as he went around. He had to have 100+ mile an hour on me.
It was an all dragster night for us, I think we trailered four before we got to a door slammer.
