Intake Manifold Gaskets - 1/8" Thick, BB Chevy
Does anyone make a 1/8" thick intake manifold gasket for a stock oval port Big Block Chevrolet other than Mr. Gasket p/n 107? I searched Fel-Pro and found nothing. My problem is that Mr. Gasket p/n 107 is just a cheap composite fiber gasket and is a pain in the butt to remove when it comes time to do so. I'm looking for something that won't make a mess, and is easy to remove. Thanks.

Ben,
I've been taking two gaskets, stack & glue them together. Gaskets I'm using measure .058 so that puts me up around .115-.117. Bought a batch of them off of Ebay and they fit runners real good. Best I can remember they were like $5.00 a set. |

Before nhra began checking runner cc's, we would contact the gasket to the cyl. head, then put a thin coat of lubriplate on the intake side, gasket could be reused a few times. I suppose you can put it on both sides without it sticking to either surface when pulling the intake. I don't believe anyone makes a thick gasket for a oval port. gsa612

Check with Dave Layer at Heads Up. He has gaskets custom cut for the small block heads to fit his port configuration. He might have some for the big block heads also.
