BBC springs/couple others

Hey guys, Im glad to be aboard here. I have a 68 camaro with a alum headed 505 bbc in it with t-brake 400 turbo. I am wanting to install moroso trick front springs in it. On the moroso site there are many to choose. This is a 90 strip 10 street (in town 30mph zone no curves) some say to run sbc springs and some say bbc springs. I want most out of the front due to its just a 1/8 mile car, but I want it to react !!
Also do they make alum inner fenderwells anymore (alston/comp/s&w)?? I want some trick inner panals for my baby!!

This is a very trick site with some hardcore racers, Im glad I found you guys. Pics and tips are greatful

P.S. Are the front springs a pain to install?? Any cutting for racers??

BadCamaro take a look at my pics posted on this site. This is with an Aluminum headed BBC, T400 and Moroso SBC #47150's (213 Lbs) springs.

I hope that gives you an idea on how the car will sit.

I actually sold the car the first of the year as a roller. I was running a 28 inch Hoosier and there was approximately 1/4 of a coil cut off the springs. You could get Santhuff springs, but they are much taller. I wouldn't cut anything off and just compress the crap out of the spring to get them on. I rented your typical coil spring compress and ran an impact on the springs to get them compressed enough to put them on. It took 3 of us to compress the springs. The impact makes it easy, but the springs were bowing like crazy and it was scary looking. I would have someone do them if possible. Last thing you want is the spring compressor slipping off.

the only way to get the right springs is to know the weight on the front tires and you get this by 4 corner scaling the car.

once you have this info, you can call your favorite spring manufacturer or look through a moog catalog.

What you want is the tallest spring that will fit which is about 18", a spring that will undersprung the nose weight by upwards of 10% that will compress loaded just shy of coil bind.

with the right spring, a front and rear suspension that works and a little power;) this is the result

3880 lbs. launched off the footbrake to a best 60 foot of 1.28 and the front coil springs are right out of Moog's catalog and uncut.
