night vision

Racers,

my night vision continues to slip. Do we have any "tools" to help/enhance night vision?

Shooters amber color lens? other ideas?

Thanks

Re: night vision

A good start would be to eat more carrots, and also supplementing with beta carotene. Beta carotene is converted into vitamin A in the liver, then performs many tasks in the body-one of which is retina health (skin too).. If supplementing use beta carotene as opposed to supplementing vitamin A. Too much A can be toxic, however the body won't convet too much BC into vitamin A.

Hope this helps :)

PS, don't cook the carrots, I would expect in raw form more nutrients are more bioavailable.

Hey Larry,it's what's called getting old.And as far as carrots go,I ate so many carrots, cooked and uncooked when I was a kid that I should have had X-ray vision.I needed glasses since I was 8 years old and I've worn them since.I'll be 66 in April.Working on the car isn't as easy as it used to be either. But I thank God I'm still mobile. And I still have my
lovable personality.

We're just practicing for the wheelchair racing we'll be doing in the nursing home. The nursing staff (female) had better beware.
