disc brake springs

I am new to the site so I hope I am posting this in the right spot. I have a 93 Z28 that I race regularly. I was wondering what springs are used to keep the brake pads pushed apart so they do not drag on the rotors. I have searched but have found nothing. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: disc brake springs

The groove in the piston has a slight slight angle on one side. When the brakes are applied, it make the piston seal deflect slightly. When the brakes are released the seal straightens back up and slightly retracts the piston. Early disc brakes didn't have this feature and they did drag.
