Carter AFB
I am running a 67' 440 GTX, with a 9755 carb. What is the best way to eliminate the metering rods--I hear that some are using Holley jets??
Where do I start? Is there anything else needed besides changing the jets? Any help would be great, its winter time and we all have plenty of down time! |
Re: Carter AFB
Student,
do a search for Danny Ashley, you should be able to find a post with his phone number. He can give you some guidelines. Or go to the member list, find Danny Ashley and send him a private message. |
Re: Carter AFB
Danny Ashley did my Quadrajet on my truck....but to my knowledge he doesn't work on Thermoquads or AFB carbs. The reason we sometimes remove rods on Thermo's is : 1 Lack of different jet available 2 Easy of assembly of top of carb to body. Neither applys to your carb. There are a number of important facts to know on the AFB carbs. If you want any help Email Racer7411@yahoo.com. and give me a day or two to reply...too much to post here. John Irving........ Re: Carter AFB
I know several that have used SS/JA racer Don O'Malley for their AFB. Picked them up significantly. I had Don build me a pair of Autolites but they are still in the box waiting for the engine.
Pricing is what the rate is on the other builders. Call him @ 217-369-0215 |
Re: Carter AFB
Tom: I tried to answer the man's specific questions........ There is just to much information about these carbs to put in a single post. I left a contact if he needed a carb or info on them. Sorry no offense intended.
