Helmets, current & new Snell ratings
 

When will the Snell 2005 rating be obsolete? Or, to ask another way, when will the Snell 2010 be required?

We are talking 10.00 second and slower ET door cars. Open face type helmet.

I think it is listed in the 2009 NHRA rule book, I want to say the 2005 helmets
expire at the end of 2011.

BTW, every time I used my open face Bell helmet (M2005) this year I had a passing thought about Ken Etter's accident...think I'm listening to my 'inner voice' and using the Arai full face helmet next year. Sh.. happens (even in a stocker).

Whats up with nhra's web sight can't view rule book . enter member # & password & notthing comes up. Was going to see when my m2000 snell exp.

According to my 09 rulebook, page 282, expiration dates are as follows:

Snell 2000 1/1/2012
2005 1/1/2017
2007 1/1/2019

Thank you, that shows that Run to Rund was correct and I was incorrect.
I have a 2000 helmet and I knew it only had one more year left on it.
