Re: Air Cleaner Question

On a car with a factory flat hood, most use something like a large dia. Moroso or one of the high flow, spun aluminum models that are prevalent in roundy-round racing. If a heads-up race comes up, off comes the top and element, leaving just the base in place. My .02.

NHRA does not allow those and they have apparently been cracking down on them. Why I don't know, but thats what has been reported (even in SS they have said no).

You can run a factory canister with or without the lid or nothing at all. You can run the "standard" aftermarket Moroso style. If you had a ram-air system you have to run the OEM components to get the air from here-to-there.

I know this an older thread, but I have a question about the EFI air cleaner setup. What can be done on them?

Re: Air Cleaner Question

You can use the spun circle track air cleaner..
You are not allowed the spacers provided with the air cleaner..
Tech man has to be able to put a straight edge across the top of air cleaner and be able To touch carb air horn ..
