Staging light beam height

Help serve my memory. 3" from the track to the beam, correct?

Re: Staging light beam height

the car has to be 3 inches. According to Porta Tree website the beam should be 2 inches. If you goto thier site and look under instructions and click on the one that reads "instructions for setting up a accurate drag race starting line" is where I found the 2 inch deal.

The car must have 3" of clearance to 12" past the centerline of the front wheel. Beyond that it`s 2".
