Super Trick advice
 

Looking to mix & match front and back halves of older wheels. Has anyone done this first-hand that could offer advice, things to do or not do that may make this a painless experience?? Basically plan to take the inside half of a set of fronts to mate to a set of rear outer halves to make a narrower, wheel with LESS offset. Thanks for any help.

My first "real" race car had the proper offset on the rear after I installed my Super Tricks...backwards! And that's how I ran them!
I think you'll just unbolt them and use an aluminized silicon sealant down the middle.

Jeff is correct, clean them real good before you put them together. Put a small amt of sealer around the center than go all the way around the seam. If done right they will not leak.

The Super Tricks have a square "o" ring around the inside. but it'll probably be dried out and shrink when you take it out.
Try using a high strength sealer adheasive, not just any old silicone , an seal around the o-ring not on it . .......Mopar differential cover sealant works very well. ....Be sure to use a very small amount of antiseize on the bolt shank to prevent reaction between the steel and aluminum.
I used to make racing money polishing Super Tricks way back, make sure that you take a good look at all the holes and the inside of the bead for cracks ,since the newest wheels are still going to be at least 30 years old !
Next to Motorwheel Flys ,Tricks are still one of the best looking racing wheels out there.

You have plenty of good tips here; just wanted to add what Bogart told me when I did my old ones. He highly recommended acetone for cleaning.

Yes. Use grade 8, not stainless.

These wheels are going to be used on a new "old" lightweight street toy................. it appears that it's going to be cheaper to play at home in the near future -- he he.
