Scott Gove - 2nd Super Stocker in the 7s
 

Congratulations to Scott Gove on becoming the 2nd Super Stocker to run in the 7s (John Gallina was the 1st). Scott's SS/AM Dodge Daytona ran 7.968 today at the Dutch Classic at Maple Grove.

Louis Bloom kept saying this was the first one , but Nitro told me it was the second . John Gallina was the first.;)

Scott has actually run in the 7's a couple of other times before this. I know he ran in the 7's last year in Epping. He is the first "naturally aspirated" to do it though. Scott has really refined that car over the years. It's a monster!

1st off I really enjoy this forum, it is great reading. To correct what was said earlier in this post I mentioned several times prior to Scott's run's this weekend that John Gallina and his Turbo Buick was the 1st and only NHRA 7 second super stock car, till today. When he made his run I did say he was the quickest SS Car of all time....Thanks to Scott Gove and his efforts. I love Drag Racing on many levels but none is more exciting than seeing, announcing something that has never been done before, example the quickest run in Class History.

I met Scott a few years back in Maryland, one of the many great racers I have made friends with. He had not yet run in the 7's but that was his goal. He is a determined and thoughtful racer and I am so happy for his accomplishment. Way to go Scott, BTW hope your knee has healed well!

Nothing against Gallina, but remember it was aFULL TUBE chassis turbo car with a Kenny Dutweiller engine.

It was not a full tube car.. It was a back half car. He did it like 10 years ago.
