Doing my Own Carb, Whats legal

I've got a couple of spare carbs sitting around, and I know my car is lacking in CFM, Sooo My question is what is legal and what isn't. I have no intention to do anything remotely illegal with the carb so I want to know if there are any tricks I can do myself. For Example trimming the throttle blade screw's etc.. can you taper the throttle plates at all?

If you don't want to give away any trade secrets in an open forum feel free to PM me.

It's a 2 barrel Motorcraft carb. It's from a 82 ford escort. Part # E1EE-E1A. It's weber style Carb with fuel jets air, jets and emulsion tubes.

Steve, It's illegal to do anything to the throttle plates or screws. The boosters are a different thing. I have seen a lot of boosters different than what came on the car. You might get away with more on your carb because no one in tech probably knows what it is supposed to look like.

It is a Weber just stamped with with a Motorcraft label and the Holley/Weber casting as used in many other applications.

When properly done, they make lots of power since the Weber DGV series parts are compatible and you can do lots of fine tuning. I assume it is for a 1.6 engine application.

Used to build lots of them for SCCA racing many years ago. Send me a PM if you need help.
