question about GT/
when reading the rules it says any year motor in any year of car, as long as they are the same make,
has anyone tried an LS1 in an early nova? |
Re: question about GT/
I inquired about a similar issue (Volare with a 5.7L hemi) with NHRA and they told me that it would be a legal combination within the GT guidelines. However, it would have to be fuel injected and listed under the engine combo listing (which of course the LS1 is). I would send an email to NHRA tech to be safe. Heck of an idea!

Re: question about GT/
sounds like a good idea for the volare!
and for the nova idea, heck throw in an ls7 from a newer z06 |
Re: question about GT/
now how about a prowler with a 6.1 ?

Re: question about GT/
I'm kinda surprised no one has tried a combo like you mention since they opened up the GT body rules. How bout Kip Martin's early Mustang with a 331" blown CJ? (if you're into the F-word cars)
Or...a '55 Chev 210 with a 454...etc. I know it's not "pure", but that horse left the barn when GT was invented! |

The OHC engines would not fit in an early Mustang without cutting and welding. The pushrod motors are small blocks and would drop right in. |
