Mickey or hoosier

I need some help with my tire choice. I have always ran Mickey's Et drag-bias ply slick. For the stocker I am going to use the radial slick. My question is on any given night at a drag strip Mickeys are everywhere, in the world of stockers all I really see are Hoosiers.

Any advice will help.

We've had really good luck with Hoosier, radials on the automatic car, and bias on the stick car that was sold.

The flip side of that is you see guys like Peter Biondo on Goodyear, and guys like Anthony Bertozzi on M/T. Hard to argue with their success.

I raced an LT-1 powered Firebird Stocker a couple years ago......

First set of tires I had were M/T radials 3066R I think was the tire number......Tread wear was pretty poor but I was probably doing to much burnout. I had 40-50 runs on them and they looked like crap.....BUT hooked good anywhere I raced....I even had a flat and plugged it and they still worked fine. I replaced them soon after the flat.....

I put Hoosier radials on the car to try them and they did not hook in my opinion as well as the M/T's.....I tried various air pressure settings......higher, lower.......and I still felt hook was a little off with those Hoosier's....

This was a 10 second car with 60 foot times in the 1.30's most of the time....

This might be top secret info:
What air pressure?
What width wheel?
What did the car weigh?

Thanks for all of the help!

No secrets....Most anyone will help you with info like this....

Car weighed about 3050lbs running A/FIA....That was as light as I I could get it and I was way over the minimum.....

Rims were probably 10" wide......

Tire pressure from 17 to 20 lbs.

All footbrake launches

Best 60 foot 1.34
