Brake Pressure Switch

I am looking for a p# for the adjustable brake pressure switch that many are using in stock for there two step. I was told that Grainger sell a switch, that people are using, but I need a part #.

Thanks.

Robert

Re: Brake Pressure Switch

It is absolutely, positively, 100% legal. I showed the whole setup to Div. 1 tech man Ryck Campbell last year, or maybe the year before.

There seems to be a persistent belief that adjusting the pressure can act as a delay. Low pressure can indeed delay the rev-limiting function shut off, but the wheels will start turning as soon as the brake pressure gets below a certain point, regardless of whether the switch is still closed. The point of doing this is to get the 2 step switch open quickly and consistently, which requires getting the switch off before the wheels turn.

Robert- I'll get the part number when I get back to the garage this weekend.

Here is a part number I got from from Alf Wiebe for a pressure switch he uses. It is a switch from GEMS Sensors. 209506. Here is a link to the switch on their web site:

That's too bad...
I moved from bracket racing years ago,
just to get away from electronics
and delay devices?

Re: Brake Pressure Switch

A pressure switch used to activate and deactivate a two step is not a delay device.

If I were going to use a pressure switch, I'd also use a brake pressure gauge when staging.
