q-jet @fuel pressure
Is it possible to have too much pressure and volume to the regulator??
we were testing this weekwnd and started playing with reg pressure. Keptworking our way down from 7#s all the way down to 3. At 4pounds the car picked up about 5 hundreds. 3 pounds it ran the same. Tried to go lower but that was as low as the reg would go. Is it possible that the bowl would fill so fast that needle and seat would shut off and on, on launch until it stabalized down track with a pump capable of keeping plenty of pressure and volume? |
Re: q-jet @fuel pressure
Just curious what kind of car is it? Also how quick? 60' etc. I would like to find out some peoples thoughts on this. My car seems to like just a little more fp. But I have recently found problems with the supply side so I am correcting that.

Re: q-jet @fuel pressure
If you're talking about a Quadrajet carb (?), talk to the guys who have spent some time with them. The fuel bowl is notoriously small in volume and fuel pressure, line routing and needle and seat (diameter, type, etc.) selection has more than a casual effect on some unique problems/solutions associated with them.

Re: q-jet @fuel pressure
couldnt you modify the reg to vac.reference then you could have low press. at low rpm and it could build more press. as needed?seems to me then you wont flood over at idle but will keep the float bowl filled down track
