9x29.5 3056st on 69 camaro

anyone using these on a stock wheelopening 69 camaro without cutting or hammering the leading edge at the rocker.I know some have said that lately these have been coming in with greater than the 92" rollout listed in the specs.

I can`t help with the Camaro question, but I just mounted a new pair of 3056ST`s for my Mustang, and on a 9" wide rim, at 12 psi, the circumferance was 95". This was with a steel tape measure, so the number may be off a tad, but that does seem a bit taller than the last set. According to the code on the sidewall, my tires were made on the 40th week of 2009, if that helps.

Did you have to cut or clearance the lip anywhere, and how what mph do you run,my 10x29 hoosiers touched at 136mph even with an inch of clearance at the front.I had the wheels widened to 9" and beadlocked so it might not grow as much with the 9"m/t but im just trying to be sure before i buy them. Thanks,Eric

The lips on my quarters are bent up on the inside, The side wall on the "ST" tire is a bit different than the normal slick sidewall, my mph is less that your as I run 1/8th at 99mph I had no problems. Hope this helps...

It seemed to me that the 29.5s were coming out with more rollout then they had in the past. I was told that this can vary even based upon the time of year that they are made.

One thing that I do is I call ahead and ask them to look for the shortest rollout set they can find and load them on the truck for me. My last set was 92.25 rollout, but I have seen them at 93 brand new. They do vary so if you are close on fitting, that might help.

Thanks guys,i will find a dealer that will work with me on this.Eric,in what way do you mean the sidewall is different? I know its stronger but do you mean it bulges out more or less than other slicks?

Re: 9x29.5 3056st on 69 camaro

Sidewall feels really soft off the wheel but when you put it on and put air in it, it's really stiff, I didn't see hardly any growth at all out of mine. Just feels and looks different that a standard sidewall slick. I used them with a transbrake and they worked quite well..
