Wheelie bars? what to use?

I'm thinking about putting some wheelie bars on my bracket car. it is a 3500# stick car. that when the track is tight, it will drag the bumper past the 60ft, but when the track is hot, it will tend to spin the tires more than i like causing delayed rt. so i'm moving more ballast to the rear to compensate for less than desirable track conditions. i was wondering who's bars are you using and what length and if they are sprung or not? trying to stay on a budget. i see them advertised for $300 to $1000?

I've got my AJE bars for sale @ $200 and there is nothing wrong with them. I had them on my D/S then SS/H AMX w/ Cal-tracks springs & bars.
60' times improved with them on the car and never any unloading issues.
For a sprung car, I think they're the best out there.

Re: Wheelie bars? what to use?

I'm changing to a 4-link with coil-overs and that's an entirely different system. I'll be running a CM solid wheelie bar. I tried the solid wheelie bars on my car and it just wouldn't work. There's too much "play" in a leaf-sprung rear suspension for a solid bar to work and no matter how much I pre-loaded one side, the car would launch severely out of shape.
The AJE bars are as simple as they come and I think only 11 pounds complete. There's a clevis mount welded to the rear-end axle tubes for the front mount and a pair of "stands" that I had mounted to the factory frame rails (heim ends). I've never come up with a good way to explain how these bars work. The best is "think teeter-totter". As soon as I put these AJE bars on, the car tracked true and went quicker.
There's a picture of them mounted on my car in the member ride section or just email me for pictures. I had them sold to a guy but it took me forever to find a good box that was big enough. Now I have a good box.

Here's the link to AJE. Mine are the 42" bars and are $329 new.
