Water Injection

Can someone point me to the rule disallowing water Injection in Stock Eliminator ? Page Chapter Verse as it were....

Unless I was informed wrongly....for once from me this has nothing to do with the DP car :)

Unless its under gen regs and Im not finding it...

The only ref I can find is under Jet Cars saying its allowed.....

Re: Water Injection

You got a buddy with a hot stocker that wants to put the fire out? :~)
I don't see anything about methanol or nitro injection either.... Humm.
It must be in the extra/other book Tech has with them.
I didn't see a steam engine class either!
Tech to Drooze:
Is that water in that jug or some Tenn.- Kentucky 'shine?
Sorry, it's the new meds!

Its a car with a lot of boost that has an OE computer and Audible knock indicators that retartd the timing, without the water at WOT it has a tendency to sound like a slave labor cam of elves with ball peen hammers. Good gas helps of course but dosent cure it, he dosent need the mix, straight water works fine and makes a big difference in his ET's because of the OE electronics...he can disconnect the AKI's and that helps 1 problem, the computer but it still knocks obviously.

Its really picky about the air and temp...He asked and I thought I would ask here since.....a)it was a good question and I know his situation b)It was a rule question I couldnt answer and wasnt going to call NHRA tech for since its not my car and its not THAT important....

But it got me curious too.....

I told him just put some MCormic blue food dye in the water and if anyone asks its just windshield wiper fluid and youre too lazy to drain it :)Besides youre FWD and the weight up front cant hurt....lol

Now Im curious though....

General Regulation 1.5, sub heading "Fuel/Air" (page 275 in 2010 rulebook)

Tell your boosted little buddy to try -20/-25 degree blue windshield washer fluid. Its basically a 50/50 blend of water and methonal. The h2o is for cooling and the methonal helps cooling but also aids to increase the octane rating to 115.
