Re: CJ engine options and HP ratings.
Thanks , I can hardly wait.
Is the HP. number listed factory HP. or NHRA factored HP. |
Re: CJ engine options and HP ratings.
unless the rules are changed for Ford, Chevy had to BUILD cars with the optional motors not just swear they were available.... Remember the VETTES and HOODS and 454 hi hp motors?

Re: CJ engine options and HP ratings.
Maybe this is the reason for the push for lower indexes.
It will buy some time for these combos before they can be placed where they belong. Is there enough demand in the country, right now, for Ford to sell enough of these cars to make them eligible for stock.? Can you actually buy these cars for the street or are they limited production, "race only" component vehicles? AKA fake stockers? I guess the rules will be rewritten again? |
Re: CJ engine options and HP ratings.
the HP factors are a complete and total JOKE. 375 hp for a 428 SBF, yea right. with a 2bbl and truck heads maybe.

Re: CJ engine options and HP ratings.
Larry, those are the NHRA HP rating's
Ed, CJ's will be built with all engine combo's Jim, from what I have been told, all 50 have been sold. Also, there have been a large number of body in white and their respective kits purchased. No they are not street legal, the rules book does not state that they have to be street legal, just available to purchase. Here is the rule from NHRA. "OEM may apply for inclusion of any special production run into the Official NHRA Stock Car Classification Guide. Special run must include a minimum of 50 units of an already accepted body style, need not be showroom available. Applications evaluated on an individual basis. Acceptance will not imply precedent." |
