Greg Chandler Motorsports Park formerly Kanawha Valley Dragway
 

Has anyone heard anything about Greg Chandler Motorsports park, formerly Kanawha Valley Dragway in West Virginia? I thought they closed up pretty early this fall.

Chris, I heard about a month ago that they are no longer involved with the track. I know their website is gone. If I find anything for sure I will let you know. See you in the spring. Mike

Is that the 1/8th mile track that the shutdown is the Kanawha River?

They are no longer invoved with the track. It's a shame because things were really improving. Hopefully someone will keep it open and we can continue to race.

I had heard they bought extra property around the track too. I was really hoping to see something come of the place.
Althought I live in WV, it is fairly far away from me. Pittsburgh, Quaker City, Hagerstown, and even National Trail seems closer to us.

Kanrace.com says track for sale or lease contact Tim Bell. Also shows Derek Casto dcasto@kanrace.comfor info. Their car count was good, but maybe not enough. Too bad because it's a nice facility!

I would think this would be a good track to buy. 15 miles from I 64 and 15 miles from the Oh/WV state lines. Pretty nice tower and concessions along with the bleacher set up. There have been big fan turnouts for the big shows.

I attended a driver's meeting yesterday. The track will be opening in March for test and tune. In april they will start bracket racing, running points. The go cart track and moto cross will still be ran this year also. It should be a very exciting year for KVDP.

Too bad someone can't come along and save Memphis Motorsports Park,,,its a beautiful facility.You hate to see any track go under,,,,regardless of size. My 2 cents.
