Bellhousing comparison

Would like some input on the Quick times bell housings vs Lakewood or McLeod?
Currently running a Lakewood, w/soft-lock & jerico, but hearing that more racers are switching to Quick Time bell housings.

Would like to know more about the Fit, finish, access to clutch adjustments, removeable clutch access plates, room around the transmission, pricing, pro's & con's, ect?

Information and opinions would be helpful
Thanks
Greg

Had a lakewood switched to QT. QT is awesome. It is much lighter and ALOT easier to install. Just sent mine in to get the newly approved access window done. Sure will be nice adjusting the clutch with that.

Greg,

Once you see the QT bellhousing you'll never go back. Ours fit right up and gave us a ton more room on the Chevy II. It is SFI approved, lighter, fits better and has a new window for adjustments.

Here is a picture of the new access panel that was just SFI approved for hte QT bellhousing. This is the prototype so it isn't painted but this is the only picture I know of online right now.

The QT bell is made by "spinning" the steel to shape were the old Lakewood / McLeod is hydro-formed, basically in a press, like a forging. Therefore the QT is smaller in diameter and thickness for a much better package and weight. The 6.1W SFI window was just introduced. This is what you want.

Greg,

A newer picture of the SFI QT bellhousing with the window has been posted on the internet now. Here is the link:

This looks like the production model with the SFI sticker.

Greg,

Here are a couple of pictures I took when we originally moved to the QT bellhousing (pre SFI windowed version). It makes the Lakewood bellhousing seem huge!

My Lakewood housing is 37 pounds including block plate and bolts. The quick Times can is 27 pounds including same parts. Bathroom scale but still a relative comparison.
